On Wednesday evening, May 6, 2015, Chilitos and friends attended The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing’s Up Close & Personal with Manny Marroquin & Dave Pensado at Larrabee Studios’ Studio 5 in Los Angeles. Maureen Droney, managing director of the Recording Academy’s P&E Wing, moderated the talk. The intimate setting included notable guests, in addition to Chilitos- Rafa Sardina, Mick Guzauski, Joe Barresi, and sponsors George Horton from SSL and George Adjieff from Westlake Pro Audio.

The fun-filled talk was a unique experience for the members involved. Manny and Dave shared frankly their insights and stories of engineering and mixing to an enraptured audience of industry folk-- engineers, writers, and artists alike. The pair shared, above all, their philosophies when it comes to engineering hit records. And who in the audience could forget their expressions of love for eating and drinking? We at AGI look forward to any future events that the P&E Wing of the Recording Academy puts on. The event was a great success.
